The Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA), dredged a one-kilometer section of the Krukut River tributary, starting from Jalan Lontar Raya to Krukut Sluice Gate.
It is conducted along a one-kilometer stretch with a depth of two to three meters
Central Jakarta Drainage Maintenance Section Head, Citrin Indriati explained the dredging and mud transportation were done manually as its dredging was carried out in a densely populated area.
"It is conducted along a one-kilometer stretch with a depth of two to three meters," she expressed, Thursday (7/10).
To smoothen it, she deployed spider heavy equipment to the location. The work was targeted to be completed by the end of this year.
Her team would also build four small sluice gates along Krukut River that have not yet been fitted with sheet piles to prevent flooding in Karet Tengsin and Bendhil residential areas.
"We also plan to replace the 400-meter-long embankment along Krukut River flow that has not yet been fitted with sheet piles," she stated.
