Jakarta Food Security, Marine and Agriculture Agency is about to hold its annual Urban Farming Festival.

The festival will be held on July 10-12, 2025 at Nyi Ageng Serang Building, Setiabudi, South Jakarta.
This festival will involve 50 tenants, 20 of which will feature booths from companies and supporting sponsors. A variety of exciting activities are prepared, including an urban agricultural bazaar, competitions, talk shows, and animal health services such as male cat sterilization and vaccinations.
Visitors can also receive free plant and fish seeds, with a limited number available each day. Visitors have opportunity to get seeds by consulting about urban farming.
Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Hasudungam Sidabalok said urban farming is not just about planting in the city, but part of food security and independence towards Jakarta as a global city.
"We want to strengthen global synergy towards sustainable green cities this year," he said, Wednesday (7/9).
He added that this activity also involves several public figures who are concerned about agricultural and environmental issues. Among them are Ramon Y Tungka, an actor active in environmental conservation; Tengku Tezi, an actor and chicken farmer; and Lola Maria, a processed food entrepreneur and production house owner.
The festival also targets the younger generation by holding various competitions such as coloring competitions (elementary school level), speech competitions (middle school), manual coffee brewing (high school), and agricultural innovation competitions (university students).
"Inline with school holidays, we invite them to take part in productive and educative activity," he added.
Hasudungan assessed that the festival is more than just an annual event, but also a gathering place for fostered individuals, stakeholders, and the community to show their innovations in urban agriculture.
"This is a moment for them to show their work, build collaborations, and open up new opportunities," he stated.
This public festival will start from 8 AM to 5 PM every day.
