Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asserted, the application of entertainment tax of 10 percent to 21 types of sports in Jakarta was conducted following statutory regulations. This entertainment tax is also not applied because of the initiative from the Jakarta Government.

"And we regulate it not because of the initiative from the Jakarta Government but the law that regulates it. And we apply it," he said, in the Central Bekasi Irrigation River, Cakung, East Jakarta, Monday (7/7).
Some sports that are subject to this entertainment tax included tennis, swimming, basketball, volleyball, and also padel. The imposition of certain goods and services tax (PBJT) for this entertainment service is contained in the Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Head's Decree No. 257/2025.
He admitted, the imposition of this tax is in the spotlight, especially after the sport of Padel is also subject to. He explained, most Padel players came from the upper middle class.
While related to this tax -free golf sport, he explained, the golf had been subject to a value added tax (VAT) by 11 percent.
"Golf is subject to a tax by 11 percent and it can't be doubled. And 10 percent for basketball, padel, swimming and so on," he explained.
As information, starting 2025, several Jakarta's sports facilities were subject to PBJT for entertainment services. This policy is contained in the Jakarta Bapenda Head's Decree No. 257/2025.
The tax rate imposed is 10 percent and applies to transactions such as field rental, entrance tickets, to ordering services through a digital platform.
