The Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) is targeting to complete the construction of eight water channels in four sub-districts this late July. It has been ongoing since early March.

Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Channel Development Section Head, Martinet said, the eight channels that built in Menteng were precisely on Jalan Dipenogoro.

There were also four points in Senen, precisely from Jalan Kwini I, Bungur, Kernolong, and Jalan Kwitang. Also in Sawah Besar, precisely on Jalan Kartini IV Dalam, as well as Jalan Serdang and Sumur Batu in Kemayoran.

"One of the eight channel points built, namely on Jalan Dipenogoro, already completed. Others are targeting for completion later this month," he explained, Monday (7/7).

He explained, those channels were built as the aspirations of residents through Rembuk RW until it was determined in the Musrenbang 2024.

"The work had experienced a rejection from traders along the channel. But,  it could be resolved after coordinating with the local village apparatus," he explained.

He also coordinated with the Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency to smoothen the work.

"After it is done, we also plan to repair the poor sidewalks at the same place," he said.
