As many as 62 personnel of South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency extinguished fire that burned a boarding house on Jalan Subur Raya, RT 06/08, Menteng Atas Urban Village, Setiabudi District.

South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Syamsul Huda, said the incident was reported at 1:07 PM.

"Then we directly deployed 17 firetrucks with 62 personnel," he said, Wednesday (7/2).

Huda added the fire was localized at 1:35 PM. The fire burned a boarding house with eight rooms.

"Personnel fully extinguished the fire at 2:14 PM. It is allegedly caused by an electrical short circuit from one of the rooms," he added.

According to him, there is no victim caused by the incident. In fact, 25 people lost their homes.

Meanwhile, one of local residents, Rani Miranda explained she saw thick smoke from the second floor of the building. She tried to find help, but the fire went bigger.

"Thanks to the personnel for quickly handling the incident well," she admitted.
