The Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi) was instructed to improve the job placement system for training participants because of unoptimal the employment absorption rate.
In the future, job fairs need to be more directed
Jakarta City Council Commission B Chairwoman, Nova Harivan Paloh stated this condition indicated a mismatch between the type of training provided and the needs of the labor market.
"Training conducted by the Manpower and Transmigration Agency is actually quite varied, ranging from security training, public speaking, sewing, welding, to specialized skills such as underwater welding. However, the placement is still unoptimal, as it is not directly connected to the needs of the companies," he expressed, at City Council building, Tuesday (7/1).
He pushed the importance of data basis optimalization for training participants to connect with the related company systematically. Even, she appreciated the certification award to participants, because of best score when they applied jobs.
"There should be a clear database of how many people have been trained each year and where they are placed. If they already have certifications, especially those of international standards, they should be directly connected to companies, including multinational companies that are hiring abroad," he explained.
Further, his party pushed the Regional Working Training Center (PPKD) to strengthen its role in bridging training graduates with industry needs.
"In the future, job fairs need to be more directed toward meeting the labor market's needs accurately, thus training graduates can be absorbed immediately and do not have to wait long,"
he stated.
