Jakarta City Council's Commission B Deputy Chairman, Wahyu Dewanto supports the expansion of Transjabodetabek route to the buffer areas.

He hopes that this policy can encourage people to switch to public transportation, so that it can reduce the congestion and air pollution in the capital.

"The routes now connect Tangerang, Bogor, and Depok. So we need to also evaluate this, especially regarding the public enthusiasm," he said, Monday (6/30).

Wahyu hopes that the impact of the expansion of Transjabodetabek services will be able to reduce vehicle volume and traffic flow in Jakarta.

He also emphasized the importance of expanding transportation service connectivity to densely populated areas in Jakarta. According to him, in order to residents can more easily use public transportation, access from alleys to the main Transjakarta routes must be made.

"We connect Jakarta with buffer areas, but we should not forget to give access for alleys in Jakarta also," he added.
