PT Transjakarta has tested the latest electric bus with the Zhongtong brand.

The trial was conducted without serving customers or transporting cargo, including technical aspects such as GPS functions, voice announcer, LED running text, and others.
"This is one of the procedures we implement before the bus units serve customers on the route, to ensure that all technical preparations are in accordance with the applicable Minimum Service Standards (SPM)," expressed Transjakarta's Public Relations and CSR Department Head, Ayu Wardhani, Monday (6/30).
According to her, those electric buses are high-deck type buses that will operate on corridor services or Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) or a mix of BRT and non-BRT.
She explained bus trials were conducted on six Transjakarta routes: Pulogadung - Attorney General's Office (4K), Lebak Bulus - Pasar Baru (Corridor 8), Senen Terminal - Lebak Bulus (6H), Manggarai Station - Blok M (6M), PGC - Juanda (5C), and PGC - Tanjung Priok Terminal (Corridor 10).
"Transjakarta is ready to support the government's efforts to reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality, and promote sustainable transportation in urban areas, as well as achieve the Net Zero Emission target by 2060," she added.
As information, Transjakarta has operated 300 electric buses. In the future, it is targeted that all fleets will gradually switch from conventional buses to fully electric-powered buses by 2030.
