South Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, appreciated the implementation of Mikul Buah Festival 2025 held on Jalan Raya Ragunan, Pasar Minggu Urban Village, Saturday (6/14) and Sunday (6/15).

Anwar said that this cultural festival, which is being held for the first time, is part of an effort to preserve Betawi cultural heritage as well as strengthen the identity of Pasar Minggu as a fruit center in Jakarta.

"This festival is an effort to preserve the local Betawi culture that lives in the Pasar Minggu community. In addition to strengthening regional identity, this event also raises a sense of pride for residents of their region which is known as the largest fruit center in Jakarta," Anwar said.

Anwar also invited the entire community to actively participate, while maintaining order and cleanliness during the festival.

South Jakarta Bamus Betawi Head, M. Yusuf, appreciated the South Jakarta Administration for its support of this festival. He hoped the Tugu Buah (fruit monument) construction can be realized.

"The monument will strengthen Pasar Minggu position as fruit city in Jakarta," he said.

Meanwhile, Pasar Minggu Urban Village Head, Meilita Sugiana, explained this festival also involved various elements. Those are South Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprises Sub-agency presented 160 MSMEs entrepreneurs with various culinary and fruit seed products.

Then Cultural Sub-agency also enlivened the festival with Betawi art and culture performances.

Population and Civil Registration Sub-agency provided Digital Population Identity activation, while Social Sub-agency distributed wheel chair assistances.

Moreover, South Jakarta Baznas Bazis provided charity for orphans, and the Directorate General of Horticulture of the Ministry of Agriculture also distributed plant seeds to the community.

"Hopefully this event can be held annualy," Meilita stated.
