A free cat sterilization program was held during East Jakarta Agriculture Festival (EastJakFest) 2025 at East Jakarta Arts and Culture Training Center, Jalan Haji Naman, RT 03/02 Pondok Kelapa Urban Village, Duren Sawit District.

One of residents of Cipinang Cempedak Urban Village, Jatinegara District, Intan (22) admitted happy since the event helped her much.

"This cat sterilization program is good since it can handle cat population in Jakarta," she said, Tuesday (6/10).

She hopes the program will not only targets local cat, but also foreign and crossbreeds.

"I have 12 crossbreed cats," she admitted.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Food Security, Marine and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency Head, Taufik Yulianto, stated the event provided 125 quota of cat sterilization.

"We remain accelerate the sterilization program including mobile to residential and market," he stated.

According to him, his side is targeting to sterilize 2,000 cats this year.

"It is important to handle cat population," he added.
