The Jakarta Provincial Government, through Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf), will organize the Jakarta Illumination Island Festival 2025 on Pramuka Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands.

This festival is a light-based art performance held in the middle of the sea, taking place on June 2-8, 2025, from 5 PM to 10 PM.
Jakarta Illumination Island Festival 2025 will be also enlivened with music performances and a bazaar featuring local small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Jakarta Parekraf Agency Head, Andhika Permata, stated that the festival is held to celebrate Jakarta's 498th anniversary and to promote tourism destinations in Thousand Islands, especially Pramuka Island.
"This festival is an effort by the Jakarta Provincial Government to revitalize tourism destinations in Thousand Islands through artistic light installations, engaging visuals, and innovative multimedia performances," he explained on Tuesday (6/3).
He mentioned that there are three main points for the light art installations, namely in Main Pier, Sub-agency Plaza, and Tanjung Elang Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA).
According to him, the festival also showcases the underwater beauty of Jakarta through thematic light decorations shaped like marine life and other ornaments. Visitors are even invited to experience the sensation of being underwater.
"We believe that this visual beauty not only entertains, but also foster pride in our local potential," he conveyed.
Through this festival, Andika hopes that the Thousand Islands will become more recognized, not only by locals but also foreigners. Therefore, he invites attendees to participate in preserving the island's sustainability.
"Let's make the Thousand Islands a proud leading destination with a spirit of collaboration, innovation, and togetherness," he said.
Thousand Islands Regent, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan, expressed his appreciation and full support for the Jakarta Illumination Island Festival 2025 on Pramuka Island.
"This festival is the first of its kind in Thousand Islands. Hopefully, it will attract more visitors and help boost the local economy," he said
.He hopes this festival can be held regularly in Thousand Islands, such as during New Year's Eve celebrations or to commemorate the anniversary of Thousand Islands Regency.
"Hopefully, events like this can be held in turn in other residential islands, as this festival will be remembered by all visitors," he added.
Meanwhile, Nur Rachman Watty, a resident of Pramuka Island, admitted that he was happy and moved to see the amazing festival with various light ornaments that mesmerize the visual senses of visitors.
"Thank you to the Jakarta Provincial Government for providing this entertainment for us residents and tourists," he expressed.
