Long Holiday, 11,124 Tourists Vacationed in Seribu Islands

The Seribu Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency (Parekraf) has recorded 11,124 local and foreign tourists spending their long holidays in Seribu Islands.

The more tourists visit, the more it will impact the income of business operators

Seribu Islands Parekraf Sub-agency Head, Sonti Pangaribuan said the tourist visits came from various entry points, heading to Seribu Islands located in Jakarta and Tangerang.

"Visitors arrived via piers of Marina Ancol, Muara Angke, Tanjung Pasir, and Cituis," she expressed, Monday (6/2).

Of the 11,124 visitors, she detailed, 4,317 people visited the Seribu Islands on May 29, followed by 2,070 people on May 30, 3,114 on May 31, and 974 on June 1.

According to her, their visit for recreation to the Seribu Islands has a positive impact on the local economy.

"The more tourists visit, the more it will impact the income of business operators," she explained.

Besides offering a variety of exotic natural destinations, she explained, access to Seribu Islands is also very easy and affordable. For instance, via Marina Ancol Pier, tourists will be charged around Rp 175,000 to Rp 300,000 for a speedboat.

"Then from Kali Adem Pier, visitors can use wooden boats at a fare by Rp 50,000 to Rp 80,000, and Dishub boats at a fare by Rp 44,000 to Rp 74,000," she explained.

Pramuka Island Pokdarwis Chair, Hermansyah admitted that during the recent long holiday, more than 4,000 tourists visited Pramuka Island. Moreover, there was an exhibition called Illumination of the Island that tourists can enjoy on Pramuka Island.

"During every long holiday, the number will drastically increase compared to other days. Hopefully, its number will keep crawling up and the tourism of Pramuka Island will become more famous," he hoped.
