West Jakarta Satpol PP intensifies monitoring of illegal street vendors in Kota Tua, Taman Sari District.
We took action in a humane and firm manner
West Jakarta Satpol PP's Head Section of Security and Public Order, Edison Butar Butar, said intensive supervision is run since illegal street vendors are selling on sidewalk and roadside that triggers traffic congestion.
"We took action in a humane and firm manner," he said, Tuesday (5/27).
He added that strict sanctions in the form of minor criminal actions will be given if the street vendors still insist on violating the regulation.
He also appealed the street vendors not to use public facilities for selling. This activity gives negative impact for environment.
During routine monitoring, Edison added, his side deploys
60 personnel every day in Kota Tua."Satpol PP personnel are taken from urban village up to city level. Other joint personnel are also there," he stated.
