Hundreds of qurban animals sold at three shelters underwent health examinations by the Central Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency.
Examination includes checking the age by inspecting the teeth and taking blood samples
Central Jakarta Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Section Head, Dwi Yani Herawaty said the three shelters inspected were at the PPK Kemayoran building area, Jalan Angkasa Bundaran; Jalan Pangkalan Asem, RT 08/RW 01, Cempaka Putih Barat; Jalan Rawamangun, RT 01, Rawasari.
According to him, those animals were mostly from Wonosobo, Bali, and Madura.
"Examination includes checking the age by inspecting the teeth and taking blood samples," he explained.
From the sellers, officers also asked a health certificate for the animals from their place of origin.
"We want to ensure that the animals being sold are in good health," he stressed.
The examination against qurban animals received appreciation from a Goat Trader from Purworejo, Central Java, Sugianto (26), who set up a stall in the former PPKK Kemayoran area.
He assssed, this had a positive impact because it provides certainty to its consumers.
"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), the 40 goats I sold were healthy and free from anthrax," he admitted.
