A total of 40 pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, as well as parents of toddlers in Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village, Matraman, East Jakarta, received education on safe food practices organized by the Jakarta Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BBPOM) on Wednesday (5/21).

"Preventing stunting requires collaboration between the government, health workers, and the community,"

According to Head of Jakarta BBPOM, Sofiyani Chandrawati Anwar, this education is part of efforts to prevent stunting caused by consumption of unsafe and low-nutrient food.

"Preventing stunting requires collaboration between the government, health workers, and the community," she stated in a release received by Beritajakarta, on Thursday (5/22).

In this activity, participants received education on the importance of balanced nutrition, food safety, and how to choose safe and consumable food products.

Jakarta BBPOM team also introduce the "Cek KLIK" concept—Check Packaging, Label, Distribution Permit, and Expiration Date—to ensure the public is more discerning in selecting food, especially for children.

With this activity, she hopes that more families will become more aware of the importance of providing nutritional intake from pregnancy to early childhood of their children. This activity also involved local Posyandu cadres.

"Through synergy between the government and the community, it is hoped that stunting prevention efforts can be carried out effectively and continuously," she conveyed.
