Joint officers of Satpol PP, Social Sub-agency, police, and army, seized 1,366 illegal drugs during a raid on the Tanah Abang Multipurpose Pedestrian Bridge (JPM) yesterday afternoon.
Supervision will keep being intensified
Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin said the 1,366 seized were 735 Tramadol tablets, 281 Trihexyphenidyl tablets, and 350 Hexymer tablets. Officers also arrested five suspects with the initials ARP (55), RK (25), BNW (52), BM (17), and ANDN (23).
"Drug raids are conducted in the context of enforcing Bylaw No. 4/2009 on the health system," he expressed.
He explained the sale of this type of medication must have a clear location and whether the buyer has a permit or a doctor's prescription.
He asserted the sale of this drug is dangerous, thus Satpol PP is assigned to protect and keep the community in a healthy, reasonable, and rational state of mind.
"Supervision will keep being intensified," he stressed.
He added the arrested suspects would be temporarily detained at the social shelter owned by the Jakarta Government.
"They will undergo a summary trial (tipiring). The penalty could be a fine or imprisonment," he stated.
