Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, and his deputy, Rano Karno, inaugurated the low-cost rental apartment (Rusunawa) Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, Thursday (5/8).

This building has a total of 723 units, with three units designated for persons with disabilities and the remaining 720 units for the general public.

He also highlighted transparency in the registration process for rental rusunawa units via Sirukim application. He also acknowledged hearing complaints regarding the Sirukim application.
Therefore, he told the Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Agency Head, Kelik Indriyanto to make improvements and upgrades to the application system within two weeks.
"Hope this application will be more open, more transparent, better, and respond to the public faster," he explained.
Through this application, the public could also find out their registration status within two weeks if they do not meet the requirements.
The Jakarta Government was committed to continuing the construction of rusunawa to provide decent housing for the community. The next construction was slated in Rorotan, Padat Karya, and the revitalization of Marunda Rusunawa.
In its construction, he emphasized the importance of providing supporting facilities, such as mosques, daycare, health facilities, and libraries so that the community feels comfortable.
He assessed the Jagakarsa Rusunawa is in a quite strategic area. Even, the residents would also benefit from the new highway that facilitates accessibility.
"Moreover, transportation, infrastructure, and connectivity to the south are currently being planned to be improved made neater and more detailed," he explained.
Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Agency Head, Kelik Indriyanto uttered the Jagakarsa Rusunawa consists of three towers, each with 16 floors and a total of 723 units.
This building is constructed on a 1.9-hectare-wide land. Each unit has 36 square meters wide with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a drying area. Other facilities provided are an elevator with access cards, a communal area on each floor, a mosque, sports facilities, a children's playground, daycare, and open spaces.
"This rusunawa is also a green building," he added.
He also conveyed that the registration process for the units is conducted transparently via an application where applicants upload the required documents. Meanwhile, the rental cost for the Jagakarsa flats is between Rp 865,000 to Rp 1.8 million per unit per month.
One of the prospective residents at Jagakarsa Rusunawa, Arvina (22), along with her husband, expressed happiness in choosing this housing. According to her, the rental cost of this apartment is comparable to the facilities provided.
"I chose this rusunawa, as the facilities are good and worth the cost, and the access is strategic," she explained.
She assessed, the registration process to obtain a unit of subsidized rusunawa is easy and quick.
"The process is quick. After one month, it has already entered the raffling stage," she stated.
