Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, officially inaugurated 59 echelon-II officials at Great Hall, Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (5/7).
We will build a strong digital ecosystem
This inauguration coincides with Wednesday, when all civil servants in Jakarta are required to use public transportation for their work activities, including heading to the inauguration location at the City Hall.
One of the officials appointed today is Budi Awaluddin as the Head of Jakarta Communication, Information, and Statistics Agency (Kominfotik). He appreciates the policy and admitted to directly experiencing the benefits of public transport services in the capital.
"It was so exciting earlier. This will be a beautiful memory. We wore our inauguration clothes and took public transportation, just like the mayors who will be inaugurated today. Our transportation is already really cool, not inferior to those abroad," he expressed.
He presents several short-term, medium-term, and long-term work plans that he would implement at the Jakarta Kominfotik Agency. His main focus is to support the Governor's target of placing Jakarta in the top 50 global cities, as Jakarta is currently in the 70th position.
"One of the indicators of a global city is the exchange of information and digitalization. Hence, we will build a strong digital ecosystem, starting from smart city, smart people, to smart environment," he explained.
In the short term, he will soon fill the vacant position in his agency, as well as develop the grand design for CCTV, data center, and government digital center.
He also wants JAKI to truly become the super app for Jakartans. Public services, including complaints and reports from residents, can be accessed and integrated via JAKI app.
"This app will be developed. If there are issues or if you want to access public services, go to JAKI. So, everything is in JAKI. And thank God, many have already replicated it. Yesterday, Lampung was included, as well as Banda Aceh. Even Palembang wants to imitate JAKI. Many other governments will also follow it," he explained.
In 2025, he added, there will be an addition of around 100 CCTV units through the CSR scheme, increasing the existing number of 1,494 units. However, procurement will begin in 2026, after the grand design of the CCTV is completed following the recommendations from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
"All these transformations are aimed at realizing a Jakarta that is more connected, transparent, and globally competitive," he exclaimed.
