Jakarta City Council's Commission A Vice Chairwoman, Alia Noorayu Laksono supports the implementation of cashless parking in Jakarta. This is inline with Jakarta's vision as a global city.

"Cashless parking is our support for Jakarta as a global city," Alia, Tuesday (5/6).

Alia appealed the Transportation Agency to recruit parking attendants who are able to operate digital system.

"We need to recruit parking attendants who have skill in using technology and application. And they should not take more parking fees," she added.

Meanwhile, Jakarta City Council's Commission B Member, Wa Ode Herlina stated it is hoped the cashless on street and off street parking will boost the regional revenue.

"It must be implemented. Do not say expensive for this technology," she stated.

She added that the cashless system can be a solution for transparency and efficiency in the management of parking fees which will ultimately have an impact on the progress of Jakarta.
