Jakarta City Council Commission C Secretary, Suhud Alynudin supports the Jakarta Government's efforts to boost regional revenue through the tax sector.
We support you all (Bapenda) to be optimistic
This support was expressed after a performance evaluation meeting with Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda).
"We support you all (Bapenda) to be optimistic. We believe you can boost regional revenue. They have calculated the potential opportunities that can be pursued," he expressed, at City Council building, Tuesday (5/6).
He explained the meeting also discussed the potential tax revenues, ranging from Heavy Equipment Tax, Land and Building Acquisition Duty (BPHTB), and Land and Building Tax (PBB).
According to him, the suboptimal tax revenue was due to regulations that do not fully support transaction ease. Thereby, the council was committed to advocating for regulatory revisions to facilitate the public to pay taxes.
"We heard earlier the proposal from the council regarding simplifying transactions. Thus, the public won't find it too complicated to make transactions," he explained.
He added that the decline in tax revenue could also be influenced by the sluggish economic conditions of the community. If BPHTB revenue decreases, it could be due to a decline in property buying and selling transactions.
"So, it's not about other matters, but it must be acknowledged that the current economic conditions are difficult," he stated.
