South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin, took public transportation from the official residence to his office on Jalan Prapanca Raya, Selong Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru Sub-district.
I think it would also be enjoyable
According to him, the use of public transportation is mandatory for Jakarta civil servants as outlined in the Jakarta Governor's Call Number 6/2025.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), today, I started the day by taking the Transjakarta bus to the office with enthusiasm," he expressed, Wednesday (4/30).
He explained he started his trip by walking from his official residence to Tirtayasa Transjakarta Bus Stop.
Then he continued by bus to the Blok M Bus Stop heading to Ragunan and got off at South Jakarta Mayor's Office Bus Stop.
"I see all the bus stops and Transjakarta full of Jakarta civil servant uniformed staff," he explained.
His trip using public transportation for almost 30 minutes is seen as a way to cultivate positive habits for civil servants. Besides reducing traffic congestion and air pollution, taking public transport can also improve physical health.
He reminded civil servants not to circumvent this policy by using personal vehicles parked near the office.
"I believe they might still be looking for the most convenient transportation route. Despite it seems troublesome at first, if it is done routinely every Wednesday, I think it would also be enjoyable because of the interaction with other public transport users," he stated.
