Dozens of Pramuka Island Residents Benefit from Posbindu Services

A total of 50 residents on Pramuka Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands benefit from the Integrated Health Service (Posbindu) at RW 04 Post.

"We also carry out door-to-door services to make it easier for residents, especially the elderly,"

Panggang Island Urban Village Health Center Head, Tri Lusmantoro, said that Posbindu aims to increase community participation in the prevention and early detection of risk factors for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

"This activity is routinely held every month in different locations. Today, the Posbindu has served residents aged 15 to over 60 years old from 8 AM to 11 AM," he mentioned, on Monday (4/28).

Tri explained that the services provided include blood pressure checks, blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid tests, and screenings for NCD risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cancer, and stroke.

"This activity involves five healthcare workers. We also carry out door-to-door services to make it easier for residents, especially the elderly," he added.

If there are any residents detected with NCDs, they will be referred to the Health Center for further treatment.

Through this services, he hopes that the health of residents on Pramuka Island and Panggang Island can be monitored properly, because some of them still unaware that they have certain disease.

"Through this services, we hope residents can control their health and detect diseases early, especially in preventing NCDs," he asserted.

Mardiana (39), a resident of RW 02/04 Panggang Island, said that these services are very much needed by the local residents to control NCD risk factors before they develop into more severe diseases.

"I had a check-up earlier. The resilt showed that my cholesterol was high. I was given medicine and advised to maintain a healthy diet. I hope this activity can continue to be held every week," he conveyed.
