The West Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture Sub-agency (KPKP) has vaccinated 2,514 rabies-transmitting animals for free.

This aims to prevent the transmission of rabies and maintain a rabies-free Jakarta

West Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency Head, Novy C Palit stated thousands of animals such as cats, dogs, civets, and monkeys were vaccinated against rabies from January to April 22, 2025.

"This aims to prevent the transmission of rabies and maintain a rabies-free Jakarta, as well as support Jakarta in becoming a global city," she expressed, Wednesday (4/23).

Of 2,514 animals vaccinated, she detailed, 465 were dogs, 2,024 were cats, 13 were monkeys, and 12 were weasels.

Therefore, she urged pet owners to bring their pets to the designated vaccination locations as this is a form of community responsibility towards health.

"Those are expected to pay more attention to their health and take care of their beloved animals as a form of responsibility towards the surrounding environment," she explained.

Today, the same action is also spotted in several locations such as Kedoya Selatan, Semanan, and Krendang urban villages.

"Let's increase awareness about the health of animals and their owners. So, we invite pet owners to bring their pets to the locations we specify or you can check on Instagram @sudin_kpkpjb for further information," she said.
