Kalideres Bus Terminal Head, Revi Zulkarnaen said travelers who are starting to leave to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri are mostly for long-distance or inter-island trips.
"Passengers heading to Padang, West Sumatera and Palembang, South Sumatera start to increase," he said, Friday (3/21).
Revi added the number of passengers heading to Java is predicted to raise this afternoon and evening.
"Kalideres Terminal implements a departure scheduling system to prevent an accumulation of buses or passengers," he added.
Revi continued the homecoming traveling peak at Kalideres Bus Terminal is predicted to happen on four to three days before Eid.
"There were 6,500 travelers daily on four and three days before Eid last year. It is predicted to increase this year," he continued.
Revi appealed to homecoming travelers who want to depart via Kalideres Terminal to always follow the officers directions, purchase tickets at the official counter, and depart via the terminal or not to board buses on the side of the road.
"We have prepared waiting room, toilets, praying room, and so on," he said.
Meanwhile, one of the travelers, Adrian (40) admitted he went earlier to avoid congestion. Moreover, the journey to Sumatra Island is quite far and tiring.
"I want to spend more time in my hometown," he admitted.
