Vice Governor, Rano Karno conducted the Safari Ramadan (Ramadan adventure) program by visiting Al-Mujahidin Mosque on Jalan Haji Gandun, Lebak Bulus Urban Village, Cilandak District, South Jakarta.
It was a musala before being constructed as a mosque
The 10th day of Safari Ramadan program is special for Rano Karno because the location brought back the memories of Si Doel Anak Sekolahan movie.
"The place recalls my memory back. It was a musala before being constructed as a mosque. Mandra used to sleep here after filming the movie," Rano said, Monday (3/10).
Rano added that the Safari Ramadan program is his and Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung's request who want to visit mosques at residentials. It also to continue previous governor's program.
"This make me meet with residents closer," he added.
Rano explained he and Pramono Anung are running their 100-day programs. One of the programs is dredging the rivers in Jakarta.
Then visiting the flood handling that
happened several days ago in Jakarta. It starts from the handling up to reducing rainfall intensity by cooperating with related stakeholders."We are committed to develop Jakarta to be better in the next five years," Rano explained.
At the same time, the program which was also attended by South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin, Rano Karno provided assistance Rp 35 million from Baznas Jakarta for the mosque needs.
There were also 20 Qurans and 500 rice packages (2.5 kilogram each) for residents around the mosque.
Al-Mujahidin's Mosque Prosperity Council Chairman, Mursalih Yusuf thanked the program held by Jakarta Provincial Government and South Jakarta Administration.
"We're happy with the presence of the Vice Governor Rano Karno. Thanks to the assistances and free umrah for mosque caretakers," he admitted.
