The Central Jakarta City administration is set to soon conduct sudden inspections of residents' houses without septic tanks at the end of February.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin said that following Bylaw 8/2007 on Public Order, homeowners who do not have a septic tank must undergo speedy trials for the minor offense commonly referred to as tipiring.

He explained his party divided the data of residents' houses without septic tanks into two groups: rich and poor.

"Satpol PP will do inspection starting the third or fourth week of February," he explained Thursday (2/6).

He went on to say that the category of residential houses without septic tanks but rich is classified based on the size and dimensions of the house, as well as the relevant socioeconomic information.

He asserted they must build septic tanks independently.

He asserted if there is still a violation during the inspection, the homeowners will receive a reprimand and a warning. If ignored, they will face minor criminal sanctions.

As for the poor, the officers will conduct a survey to make proposals for communal septic tanks.

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Tumbur Parluhutan Purba asserted his officer is ready and only waiting for the completion of the verification results from the health center and urban village.

"When the data is valid, we will deploy personnel to the field. Essentially, we are ready," he asserted.
