Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) appeals the resident to pay attention of tidal wave on January 23-30, 2025.

Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji, said tidal wave is caused by maximum sea water tides coinciding with the new moon phase which increases the height of maximum sea water tides in form of tidal wave in coastal areas of North Jakarta. It is based on information of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency's Class I Maritime Meteorology Station Tanjung Priok about Tidal Wave.

"The maximum tidal flood to exist at 6 AM to 11 AM," he said, Wednesday (1/22).

He appealed the residents living in Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru, Muara Angke, Tanjung Priok and Seribu Island to anticipate the tidal flood impact.

"Please contact our call center Jakarta Siaga 112 for an emergency situation," he added.

According to him, North Jakarta and Seribu Island BPBD also prepare personnel to standby on prone to tidal wave area such as on Jalan Dermaga Ujung RW 22, Muara Angke.

"We prepare one PE boat and four BPBD personnel in several locations," he stated.
