Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi attended the National Coordination Meeting of Population and Civil Registration 2024 with Central Institution at Grand Mercure Hotel, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
On that occasion, Acting Governor Teguh accompanied the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Bima Arya Sugiarto and supported the central government's efforts in promoting Interoperability and Digital Population Identity Recognition (IKD) for residents.
Teguh said implementing interoperability of IKD is a strategic step since it can ensure that population data is connected between government and private institutions to be utilized as community benefit. In addition, population data is also very necessary in public services, budget and development planning, implementation of democracy, and law enforcement processes.
"Jakarta needs accurate and digitally accessible population data, and integrated with other institutions. Jakarta has implemented a digital-based population administration system through NIK or e-KTP integration with various public services such as health, education business licensing, and social assistance provision," he said, as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Thursday (11/21).
Teguh explained A digital-based population administration system can make it easier for people to access various public services and help the government ensure that programs are running on target, such as in verifying recipients of social assistance.
"We welcome the central government's initiative to introduce the Digital Population Identity (IKD) system in managing interoperability between system and institutions. IKD system makes the e-KTP and official identity integrated with various public services," he explained.
Teguh added this step is in line with Jakarta Provincial Government efforts in implementing a digital-based system to facilitate population administration services for community. He hopes recommendation and strategic steps in accelerating interoperability implementation of digital identities throughout Indonesia can be produced through this Rakornas.
"I invite all participants to share experiences, information and solutions related to digital identity system implementation in each region. We can find the best solution in overcoming future problems with various experiences," he stated.
