PT Transjakarta launched the Transjakarta Academy for Pramudi Bus (Bus Drivers), which is a long-term business program of Transjakarta that aims to provide safe, comfortable, reliable, and environmentally friendly public transportation services to Jakartans.
Its launching received appreciation from Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo, where the Transjakarta Academy where the class has been opening since Monday (11/18).
According to him, Transjakarta, which is already so good, could be an example for other cities in implementing BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) services. By so, cities developing BRT systems do not have to start from scratch.
"We can adopt what Jakarta has done and then Transjakarta is the agent of the Jakarta Government to again transmit its knowledge," he expressed, Wednesday (11/19).
PT Transjakarta President Director, Welfizon Yuza explained the first class was attended by 20 prospective female drivers.
"The representation of women in this first-class shows that Transjakarta is committed to inclusivity and gender equality," he expressed.
He explained that Transjakarta has developed a sustainable framework of Clean, Empowered, and Bestari since 2023 which consists of three pillars, namely environment, economy, and social.
He added the presence of Transjakarta Academy concerns two pillars of Transjakarta's sustainable framework, namely the Empowerment pillar in the economic context, Transjakarta provides opportunities and empowers job seekers to be able to enter the driver profession at Transjakarta. Then the social pillar, Transjakarta provides equal opportunities and pays attention to gender equality.
As for the information, prospective drivers will receive learning materials including Character and Discipline Education, In Class Training & Practice, On the Job Training, Coaching & Mentoring, Evaluation, and Exams.
"Hopefully, Transjakarta Academy can be a pioneer in driver education institutions that can produce competent and highly competitive driver graduates, both for Transjakarta's needs and the needs of Indonesia," he stated.
