As many as 130 firefighters from the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) managed to put out a fire at a resident's residence on Jalan Asofa 1, RT 01/01, Sukabumi Utara Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-district.

West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency Operation Section Head, Syarifudin said the fire occurred on Sunday (11/17) at around 6.45 PM.

"After receiving the report, we deployed 26 fire engines with 130 personnel to the scene," he expressed, Monday (11/18).

He explained the fire that quickly spread burned down 24 houses and 11 rented houses.

"The fire was completely handled at 1.45 AM. It was triggered by an electrical short-circuit where it is still under the police investigation," he explained.

West Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Task Force Head, Vitus Dwi Indarto added the area burned in the densely populated residential area reached 1,000 square meters.

"There are 45 heads of families with 146 souls who are fire survivors. They are currently being accommodated at the Arrofi prayer room and Hanoman field on Jalan Berdikari," he stated.
