Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency participated at World Travel Market (WTM) 2024 held in London, England, on November 4-6, 2024.
The agency introduced the charm of Jakarta tourism to tourists and world tourism industry players, as well as to strengthen Jakarta's position as a global city of choice for tourism and business destination in the world.
Jakarta Parekraf Agency carried theme 'Explore Jakarta, Discover Indonesia' by showcasing various tourisms ranging from MICE, leisure, Culinary, culture and up to modern infrastructure and accommodation developments.
Jakarta Parekraf Agency Head, Andhika Permata, said WTM London 2024 is an important momentum to introduce the beauty, uniqueness, and rapid development of Jakarta as a world-class tourist destination.
"Hopefully Jakarta will be known as a friendly, modern city that is ready to welcome world-class international events," he said, Monday (11/11).
Jakarta Parekraf Agency's Secretary, Helma Dahlia, stated WTM London 2024 is also an opportunity to promote the potential of the rapidly growing MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) sector.
"Jakarta continues building modern facilities and supporting infrastructure, making it ready to welcome various major international events," she stated.
Jakarta Parekraf Agency's Marketing and Attraction Division Head, Sherly Yuliana, said her side is optimistic to attract foreign tourists and strengthen Jakarta's position as a leading tourist destination in Southeast Asia through the event.
"The effort is inline with the Agency's commitment in supporting the economic recovery of the tourism sector and increase the contribution of tourism sector to the national economy," she said.
At the Jakarta booth at WTM London, visitors can find various interesting information about leading tourist attractions, such as Jakarta's Old Town, Ancol, Seribu Islands, as well as Betawi traditional textiles by bringing creative economy actors to make batik, Batik Gobang Betawi.
The agency also showcases world-class hospitality by bringing Abang None Jakarta as ambassadors for tourism, culture and the creative economy and establishing business matching with international tourism agents to build strategic cooperation in expanding access for foreign tourists to Jakarta.
Therefore, the agency brought 5 co-exhibitors consisting of venues, accommodations and tour operators/travel agents, namely Wyndham Casablanca Jakarta Hotel, Dwi Daya Tours, Universal Tour, Gelora Bung Karno, Artotel Senayan Hotel, Lisa Tour and Travel and synergized with the Directorate General of Immigration who was also present at the Jakarta booth to promote the golden visa.
