The 50-meter-long sheet pile located on the Utan Kayu River, Utan Kayu Utara, Matraman, which collapsed on Sunday (11/3) at around 10 PM is currently being repaired by East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Task Force.
Matraman Sub-district SDA Task Force Coordinator, Saeful said around 100 joint personnel from SDA Task Force, Bina Marga, PPSU, Gulkramat Sub-agency, Parks and City Forest Sub-agency, Satpol PP, UPK Water Agency, and other related units were involved in the process of handling the collapsed sheet pile, since the incident until Monday (11/4) yesterday afternoon.
According to him, many personnel were deployed because the landslide material almost covered the flow of the Utan Kayu River. The landslide also resulted in the collapse of five trees, street light poles, PLN, and information boards around the location.
"After handling it, the sheet pile work will be continued by a third party," he expressed, Tuesday (11/5).
Before the incident, workers were installing river stones to repair the sheet pile. At 4 PM, heavy rain occurred with quite high intensity. The water discharge in Kali Utan Kayu was full and almost overflowed onto the road. Then at around 10 PM, it caused a landslide.
"Now, all the landslide debris has been cleared. However, there are still several tree trunks that are still at the bottom of the river and today they will be evacuated by the Forestry and City Forest Sub-agency team," he explained.
He explained the sheet pile is now being repaired to prevent unwanted things.
However, when the work was not yet completed, there was a section of the sheet pile that collapsed due to being eroded by the high water.
"Now the part that has collapsed has been fitted with dolken wood to prevent further landslides. One heavy of equipments has been deployed to speed up handling," he stated.
