West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency constructs water channel on Jalan Nurul Muslimin I, RT 07/01, Kembangan Utara, Kembangan.
Now the project has reached 40 percent
West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency Head, Purwanti said the newly constructed channel along 169 meter uses u-ditch 40x40 and 40x60 cm.
"The existence channel was constructed by local residents with limited capacity," he said, Monday (11/4).
Purwanti added her side deploys 11 personnel to construct the channel. The project has been starting from September 29 and is completed to finish November 2024.
"Now the project has reached 40 percent. Hopefully the water will flow smoothly to Angke River," she added.
Yogi (47), one of local residents, appreciated the channel construction in his area. Moreover, the existing channel had limited capacity and it caused the area inundated.
"The water will flow directly to Angke River during heavy rain. Hopefully it will also minimize inundation here," he admitted.
