As many as 60 pets owned by residents of RW 05, Karang Anyar Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Monday (9/30), received anti rabies vaccine held by Central Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency.
The pets were 48 cats and 12 dogs
Central Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency's Husbandry and Animal Health Section Head, Herawati, said the program is held to maintain Jakarta status as free rabies city since 2004.
Hera explained the program was held at RW 05 post of Karang Anyar Urban Village. The program was held free of charge.
"The pets were 48 cats and 12 dogs," she said.
RW 05 Head Karang Anyar Urban Village, Siswanto, appreciated the program held by Central Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency. He hopes the program can be held routinely every three months.
"Many residents here have pets. The program is important to make sure pets health to avoid disease transmission to the owner," he stated.
