The water channel on Jalan Bojo ng Raya, RT 05/04, Rawa Buaya Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district, West Jakarta is being improved. The improvement is part of area arrangement and anticipate inundation during rainy season.

Rawa Buaya Urban Village Head, Junaidi, explained the 129 meter long  water channel on Jalan Bojong Raya, RT 05/04, is Jakarta Community Housing and Residential Area Agency's program. The improvement includes replacing u-ditch with 60x80cm.

"The improvement is also part of area arrangement," Junaidi said, Monday (9/30).

Junaidi added that the work has been running since Sunday (9/29) by deploying one heavy equipment.

"We're targeting to complete the improvement in two weeks," he added.

Junaidi hopes the water will flow smoothly to Angke River and RW 04 will be free of inundation in rainy season.

Dadang Wahyudi (52), one of local residents, appreciated the channel improvement runs by Jakarta Provincial Government as part of area arrangement and avoid inundation.

"The area also looks tidier and safer since the channel is also covered with concrete," he said.
