The Jakarta Culture Agency (Disbud) enlivened the decorated car parade and cultural carnival at Bandung's 214th Anniversary celebration, Sunday (9/15).
Besides displaying decorated cars with the theme Jakarta, a Global City with a Million Charms, the Jakarta Cultural Agency also entertained residents who filled the carnival area with the Jakarta Fashion Show.
Jakarta Disbud Head, Iwan Herry Wardhana stated it is one of the efforts of the party to promote arts and culture and the direction of Jakarta's development as a Global City to residents of other regions in Indonesia.
"We raised the theme of Jakarta, a Global City with Millions of Charms. This theme signifies that Jakarta is heading towards a new direction of development to become a global city, but still realizing the hopes of its residents and always preserving the beauty of culture," he said, via a release received by Beritajakarta Monday (9/16).
He explained the car decoration presented an illustration of the advanced city of Jakarta with various infrastructures and sophisticated technology while maintaining the beauty of culture and preserving the green environment.
"We describe the optimistic character of Jakarta residents who are harmonious, resilient, synergistic, and progressive to continue moving forward in facing the challenges of Jakarta's transformation into a Global City," he explained.
Meanwhile, the beauty of culture was presented in the Jakarta Fashion Carnival which showcased modern costumes combined with local cultural elements, such as batik motifs, woven fabrics, and traditional decorations.
"The carnival group was accompanied by Tanjidor music. From a total of more than 90 participants, we won third place," he added.
Jakarta Disbud's Cultural Utilization Sector Head, M Fairza Maulana added before Bandung, they had also participated in the Taaruf Parade at the closing of National MTQ in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, early September.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), during the cultural parade in Samarinda we won first place, becoming the best from other provinces," he closed.
