Jakarta Provincial Government extends the LRT Jakarta Phase 1A (Kelapa Gading - Velodrome) by constructing LRT Jakarta Phase 1B that connects Velodrome to Manggarai LRT Station.
This expansion is an effort to accelerate intermodal integration at Manggarai Station as the central station.
Jakpro's Director of Engineering and Development, Dian Takdir, said that the progress of the Jakarta LRT construction has reached 26.64 percent with a positive deviation until the end of August 2024.
Dian added Jakarta LRT project preparation work such as installing fences, moving utilities and relocating trees is almost complete.
"616 trees have been cut and relocated from a target of 662 trees," Dian said, Friday (9/6).
Dian continued that main work such as drilling of foundation bored piles, placement of foundation bored piles is still being accelerated along the 6.4 kilometer LRT route. In total, there are 612 points of bored piles or foundation bored piles that have been placed and 61 points of pile caps or foundation treads that have been installed.
"Meanwhile, other major works such as the placement of bridge beams, both made of concrete and steel, floor slabs, and parapet casting are also underway. Bridge beams are the main supporting structures for railway tracks," Dian added.
Dian explained that one span between two bridge support columns or piers will consist of two bridge beams. The two bridge beams will be connected using a diaphragm beam.
After that, he continued, rails and a train-driving power source system will be installed, both on the viaduct and at Rawamangun Station, with the target of being ready for track testing at the end of September 2024.
"The Jakarta LRT Phase 1B project is being worked on from two sides, namely from the Velodrome - Pramuka zone and the Pramuka - Manggarai zone. The construction of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Velodrome - Manggarai line aims to support Manggarai as a central station," Dian explained.
Dian said, Jakpro also optimized monitoring technology in the form of a dashboard connected to Building Information Modeling (BIM). Jakpro conducts comprehensive monitoring of the Jakarta LRT construction progress through BIM. So that it can be an early warning if there is a mismatch in quality or design.
The data stored in BIM will be a data bank for the entire Jakarta LRT Phase 1B project. Therefore, he is optimistic that the completion of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B work can be completed in the third quarter of 2026 according to the targeted plan.
"Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Velodrome - Manggarai construction takes 36 months," Dian continued.
As for information, there will be five stations along 6.4 kilometers namely Rawamangun Station Pramuka BPKP Station, Pramuka Market Station, Matraman Station and Manggarai Station. It is targeted that the construction of phase 1B will carry 80,000 passengers per day.
"We hope that the construction of LRT Jakarta Phase 1B on the Velodrome-Manggarai route will be a solution to congestion and increase the use of public transportation, as well as reduce congestion in Jakarta," he stated.
