As many as 199 pets in Kebon Baru Urban Village, Tebet Sub-district, South Jakarta received anti rabies vaccine on May 13-15, 2024.
Acting Tebet Sub-district Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Implementer Unit Head, Ihsan, said those 199 pets were 183 cats, 12 dogs, two weasels and two monkeys.
"We held mobile service to ease residents getting anti rabies vaccine for their pets," he said, Thursday (5/16).
Ihsan added the mobile service will remain be held in South Jakarta areas to maintain Jakarta's status as free rabies city.
"We are committed to continuing to protect residents and pets from the dangers of rabies. We will carry out this program regularly, especially in areas that have a high pet population," he added.
He hopes that this free rabies vaccination program will create a safer and healthier environment for residents and pets. It is also hoped that this preventive step can reduce the risk of spreading rabies and increase public awareness of the importance of maintaining the health of pets.

One of pets owner, Nani (32), admitted she participated the service for the second time. The existence of rabies vaccinations like this means that more and more people are educated about rabies.
"As pets owner, we have to give anti rabies vaccine for the sake of our pets' health," she admitted.
