As many as 1.5 tons of garbage and mud were transported from the Pluit Reservoir area, Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta, last Sunday (12/10).
Hopefully, our action today can minimize flooding in the rainy season
It involved 200 joint personnel from the Water Body Task Force, Water Resources (SDA), Environment (LH), Bina Marga, and PPSU.
Penjaringan Sub-district Head, Depika Romadi said the cleanup action in the Pluit Reservoir is part of anticipating flooding during the peak of the rainy season.
Aside that, those personnel also cleaned the water hyacinth plants and the area along the reservoir.
To support this action, three units of heavy equipments type Dredger Ponton were also deployed to the location, including one amphibious excavator, five units of palka, four units of dump trucks, and motor carts.
"Hopefully, our action today can minimize flooding in the rainy season," he asserted.
North Jakarta Water Body's Garbage Management Unit Head, M Chuseiri added that all this time his staff had routinely cleaned the Pluit Reservoir area.
"From this action, we have transported six cubic meters of garbage or 1.5 tons," he stated.
