The construction of a new 486-meter-long water channel on Jalan Raya Kelapa Dua Wetan, Ciracas, East Jakarta, continues to be accelerated. The work carried out since October 9 has now progressed to more than 43 percent.

Development and Drainage Improvement Division Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri expressed the channel was built to follow up on residents' aspirations through the Musrenbang forum.

"It is targeted to be completed on December 15," he stated, Monday (11/20).

He explained the channel was being built using U-Ditch material measuring 80x80 centimeters over a length of 445 meters and a box culvert measuring 80 centimeters over a length of 27 meters, as well as a box culvert measuring 100 centimeters over a length of 14 meters.

"Hopefully, it can be completed on time," he hoped.
