The Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency drains the water channel on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat 1, Karet Tengsin, Tanah Abang.

Tanah Abang Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Eli Menawan Sari said the channel was drained, because the thickness of the mud had reached 30 centimeters.

"It has been carried out since September 11. So far, the work progress has touched 300 meters long," she expressed, Sunday (9/17).

It involved six personnel using simple tools and it was targeted for completion by the end of this week," she explained.

Hopefully, it could anticipate inundation during the rainy season.

"Also locals can maintain the channel together by not throwing garbage carelessly," she stated.
