The Gemilang Silang Monas event held in commemoration of Indonesia Independence Day's 78th Anniversary was greeted enthusiastically by the residents, Thursday (8/17) evening.

Visitors who started arriving in the afternoon flocked to the main stage at the Silang Monas in the south side. Based on Beritajakarta.id monitoring, visitors were not only from Jakarta but Bodetabek (Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi).

Haris (29), a resident of Depok, who came with his wife and two children, arrived at Monas at 5 PM. He wanted to see his favorite band Wali, who was a guest star at the event.

"We've come since afternoon. Thus, you can watch close to the stage," he expressed.

The same statement also came out from Linda (30) who came from Bekasi to Monas wanted to watch the video mapping of the Monas monument and other festive events. She and her colleagues were very enthusiastic, even though they had to go back to work tomorrow.

"The momentum like this is always interesting for me so it's a shame to miss it. Follow it into the night. Exciting and lively, I hope events like this will be a routine agenda," she expressed.

As for the information, the event was attended by Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono and officials within the Jakarta Provincial Government.

This free event was enlivened with various entertainments such as a Stand Up Comedian, Cak Lontong; Wali Band performances; cultural arts performances; and fireworks as the closing ceremony.
