Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, accompanied Transportation Minister, Budi Karya Sumadi, to inspect railway facilities and infrastructure in Jakarta and Banten.

According to Acting Governor, Jakarta Provincial Government is ready to support Transportation Ministry, especially to facilitate people to use the rail transportation mode.

"We support it. Hopefully, this facility can be used by Jakarta residents and its surroundings," he expressed, Sunday (5/28).

Previously, they had met and discussed a proposal from Angkasa Pura staff to request Transjakarta to operate in the airport area.

"We all hope that this meeting can get the best results for residents in using public transportation," he uttered.

Transportation Minister, Budi Karya Sumadi admitted he had traveled by train from Manggarai Station to Soekarno Hatta Airport Station with Acting Governor.

It aims to map the modes of transportation which are mass transit such as this train.

"This train is one of the reliable mass transportation. Because it is timely and can practically reach every place," he explained.

He explained the visit also discussed efforts to boost the capacity of mass transportation modes with a wider range, including discussing affordable tariff schemes for all levels of society

"We want buses, trains and other modes of transportation to run well," he continued.

He also asked PT KAI to continuously improve the supporting facilities for rail transportation modes, such as making multilevel model vehicle parking.

"Hopefully, what we do can make public transportation more efficient and reach places throughout Jakarta," he hoped.
