Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Commission E, appreciates the efforts made by the executive staff in helping fire survivors at the fuel storage depot operated by state energy company Pertamina in Plumpang, Jalan Tanah Merah Bawah, RT 012/RW 009, Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village, Koja, North Jakarta.

Commission E Chairman, Imam Satria stated Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono's direction in the field was very good. He instructed the ranks of Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) regarding the handling of residents who had sustained injuries to be treated at regional public hospitals and bear the medical expenses.

"We support his move in dealing with victims who were injured in the fire incident that hit Rawa Badak Selatan. From a human standpoint, it is good," he expressed, Saturday (3/5).

Besides that, the Jakarta Social Agency (Dinsos) had also taken care of the fire victims who had lost their homes and property.

"They set up a public kitchen for packaged rice meals and vitamins for fire survivors at the evacuation post. A lot of assistance has arrived and will continue to arrive," he furthered.

However, he wanted assistance not only for the disaster response period for the next seven days but also needed to think about long-term treatment for the survival of the victims.

He added that the Jakarta Provincial Government is swift in anticipating the emergence of social problems such as the action of a group of residents on behalf of the victims of the fire in Rawa Badak Selatan begging on the streets.

"This social problem must be anticipated early on, thus after the fire disaster response period ends, residents can start living amidst the downturn they are experiencing," he stated.
