Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Parekraf), held the 2022 Jakarta Tourism Awards (JTA), at the Flores Ballroom, Borobudur Hotel, Central Jakarta, Friday (12/9) evening.

The Jakarta Tourism Awards, formerly known as Adikarya Wisata, are now given to tourism and related service actors who have made a real contribution to promoting Jakarta tourism.
Acting City Secretary, Uus Kuswanto said that by re-convening JTA 2022, it was hoped that it would be able to excite the enthusiasm of tourism and creative economy business actors to continue working as well as the driving force of Jakarta's economy in welcoming the post-pandemic era.
"Tonight's JTA award is a form of appreciation from the Jakarta Provincial Government for tourism and creative economy business actors who have excellent performance and contribute to tourism and the economy of Jakarta," he expressed.
As the handling and control of Covid-19 improved, especially in Jakarta at this time, he explained the mobility of residents was revived and had a positive impact on the world of tourism.
The number of tourist visits is currently showing an increase. Based on cumulative data, the number of tourist visits to Jakarta was recorded to have increased by 170.2 percent or 88,876 visits in the period from January to April 2022 compared to the same period in the previous year which only had 32,894 visitors.
"This recovery momentum must be maintained to strengthen Jakarta's function and role as a city of resilience, stopover, and mobility for millions of people, and a business center that is open to technological developments," he explained.
Thereby, Jakarta must be supported by attractive tourism and a creative economy to maintain its cultural identity.
2022 JTA Jury Team Chairperson, Arief Yahya uttered that the jury had determined the assessment criteria for tourism and economic business actors who won the 2022 JTA award, namely performance, contribution, and commitment or dedication.
"Hopefully, the award winners will be even better in the future," he hoped.
