Jakarta Vice Governor Ahmad Riza Patria witnessed the signing of a Memorandum Understanding (MoU) witnessed for the Jakarta All-Indonesian Equestrian Sports Association (Pordasi) with the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) regarding research collaborations with native Indonesian breeds for sports and competitions, at the Jakarta International Equestrian Park Pulomas Tribune Building, East Jakarta, on Sunday (5/15).

On that occasion, a tasyakuran (celebration ceremony) was also held for the inauguration of the Jakarta Pordasi Office.

In his speech, the Vice Governor asserted that the Jakarta administration fully supports various efforts and programs for the development of equestrian sports in Jakarta. He also expressed an appreciation for the office inauguration and the signing of the MoU between Jakarta Pordasi and IPB.

It was expected to become an important momentum for efforts to develop equestrian sport for Jakarta's achievements at the national and international levels.

"We fully support the Jakarta Pordasi programs to continuously revive and improve the achievements of equestrian sports in Jakarta, while meeting the expectations of the people who love equestrian sports. To support it, it's not enough just to train but also to develop the ecosystem," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He explained the efforts to develop the equestrian sport ecosystem, among others through regular competitions, the development of sport science, building a sustainable ecosystem for horse owners, horse breeders, groomers, horse riders/jockey, providing creative space for trainers, as well as involving horse enthusiasts, and observers to collaborate, etc.

"This collaboration about Indonesian Native Horse Gene Research is one of the strategic steps to produce more promising superior racing horses to get achievements for equestrian athletes in Jakarta and nationally," he added.

Then he hoped that equestrian stakeholders could continuously collaborate in presenting innovations that can facilitate athletes to emerge as world-class athletes. Moreover, Jakarta already has international sports facilities.

As for the information, the signing was also witnessed by Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission E Chairman; Pordasi Center Management General Chairman Triwatty Mardono; Jakarta Pordasi Center Management General Chairman Aryo P.S. Djojohadikusumo and his staff; as well as IPB Cooperation Director and its staff.
