Jakarta Government continues to control COVID-19 pandemic. Not only implementing 3T, COVID-19 vaccination is also being promoted to priority groups. However, community participation is still needed to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols.
In the past week, 106,303 people were tested using PCR
Given that COVID-19 vaccination can only reduce the impact of exposure, there is still a possibility of COVID-19 transmission if people don 't follow health protocols. It can be seen from positive cases that are still fluctuating and now tend to increase. It needs cooperation from all sides to break the transmission chain.
Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia stated, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, PCR test has been carried out to 18,650 specimens. From that amount, 16,878 specimens have been tested today to diagnose new cases with total of 82 positive results and 16,796 negative results. Besides, antigen test was also conducted to 42,636 people today with 14 positive results and 42,622 negative results.
She mentioned that WHO is targeting to test 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week.
"This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 106,303 people were tested using PCR. While number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 685,338 per million population," she explained as quoted from PPID Press Release.
Number of active cases is decreased by 24 cases thus in total it reached 462 active cases as of today (including people who are still being treated/isolated). Moreover, for total confirmed cases in Jakarta as of today reached 863,633 cases. It should be noted that positive antigen test results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all were reconfirmed by PCR.
From total positive cases, 849,596 people recovered with recovery rate of 98.4% and 13,575 people died with mortality rate of 1.6%. While mortality rate in Indonesia reached 3.4%.
Positivity rate in Jakarta in the past week reached 0.6%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 11.8%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage no more than 5%.
