Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria, attended in the Declaration and Inauguration of the Jakarta Inter-organizational Forum (FLO) management, at the Nyi Ageng Serang Building Hall, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (10/27).
They must be pioneers at the forefront of changes in Jakarta and Indonesia in various fields
He encouraged the community, including community organizations to continuously be committed and collaborate in maintaining the stability of the capital city, especially amid challenges and problems faced by the nation during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"This is where their role is to collaborate with the government, including maintaining the stability of the city thus various sectors and the business world can do their activities. They must be pioneers at the forefront of changes in Jakarta and Indonesia in various fields. We must be able to return that pessimism to optimism. That's why they should have a strong ability to be independent, to be able to enlighten, raise awareness, and set an example for the community," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
In the pandemic period, he hoped they could be leading examples and always socialize the importance of adhering to the discipline of health protocols in every activity.
"Together let's wear masks, wash our hands, keep our distance, and stay away from crowds. Let's continue to remind each other, strengthen one another thus we can go through the pandemic in a healthy way," he told.
They were also expected to collaborate with the government in preventing the spread of hoax information or news in the community, including related to Covid-19 and vaccinations, etc.
"Thus it has a negative impact on the community, has the potential to trigger violent conflicts, confusion, insecurity, causing racial conflicts," he explained.
He also told them to continuously improve their relationship to foster and strengthen awareness of the spirit of togetherness, nationality, and the spirit of solidarity regardless of ethnicity, religion, race, class, and social status in realizing harmonious unity, as the main capital in nation building.
"So I want to say congratulation to you. Hopefully, you can run the organizational mandate and commitment of the Lintas Ormas Forum at the provincial and city/regency level, and its existence is in accordance with Law number 16/2017 on the stipulation of government regulations in lieu of Law number 2/2017 regarding amendments to Law number 17/2018 on community organizations," he concluded.
Aside that, he once again hoped that it could realize the commitment to bring a sense of security, peace and conducive to Jakarta as the capital city of Indonesia as a whole. He also deemed that their role is very important as one of the realizations of the freedom to associate and assemble, but there must be limits.
"This is not easy to unite the visions and missions of various organizations from various backgrounds. However, I believe that with the spirit of togetherness, community and shared goals to create a conducive situation in Jakarta. InsyaAllah, they will be solid, tough and growing. Hopefully, they can play a role in responding to the nation's problems; and develop national cadres who are qualified, nationally minded, creative and independent. Thus, they can continue development for a better future generation," he concluded.
