Around 250 joint personnel of East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, PPSU, Parks and Urban Forest Sub-agency join on Sunday (9/19) local residents to remove mud from the Grogol River, Grogol Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan.

This is done to anticipate inundation during rainy season

West Jakarta Mayor, Uus Kuswanto who attend in the river cleanup event said, it is an effort to normalize the connecting channel (PHB) and the Grogol River.

"This is done to anticipate inundation during rainy season," he expressed.

According to him, it was actually focused on flood-prone areas spread across West Jakarta.

"If inundation occurs, it will only last for six hours," he concluded.

West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Purwanti explained, it was carried out almost one kilometer.

"We use excavator to conduct normalization. We also have ten dump trucks to transport mud at the location," he uttered.
