Jakarta Satpol PP, Arifin bought up the food from dozens of street vendors (PKL) in Central Jakarta area, on Friday (8/20).

we do not only have a disciplinary task, but also protection

It was done in conjunction with the Tali Asih activity (social aid action) by distributing 200 aid packages to communities affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

According to him, it is a form of concern for the narrative of street vendors whose turnover had decreased dramatically during the pandemic.

"I had a dialogue with the traders of chicken noodles, fried foods and many more. They admit convey the food has not been sold yet. Hopefully what we do today could lighten their burden to meet daily needs," he expressed.

He explained, the food was also shared to local residents and the passing people.

"As regulated in Government Regulation number 16/2018 on Satpol PP, we do not only have a disciplinary task, but also protection. We have to help each other during this pandemic," he explained.

He added that today the Tali Asih activity was simultaneously held again by distributing 200 food packages to people affected by the Covid-19 on several roads spread over five areas. The aid package contained rice, packaged drinks, vitamins and masks.

"Our target is small traders, and some of the people who are active in looking for daily income in public spaces who are currently affected by the PPKM Level 4," he added.

According to him, the Tali Asih activity was very important, as the impact of Covid-19 was felt by the community, especially for the poor.

"We give a little of what we have to help and share with our brothers and sisters in Jakarta whose economy has been affected by the Covid-9," he continued.

Generally, it was also aimed at encouraging participation and collaboration, as well as concern from business actors who have excess sustenance to continue to help each other to ease the economic burden of some people in a difficult situation.

"We also care and don't let them face difficulties in terms of basic needs, especially for their food and drink. Despite the central and regional governments also give the aid, agencies under the Jakarta administration also do the same thing," he stressed.

As for the information, Tali Asih activity is to connect the ropes of aid that come from the collaboration of several donors and donate sustenance from Satpol PP.

The pattern used is patrols along the streets of the Capital City to ensure public order as well as conduct disciplinary education on health protocols for the community, appeals and invitations to take vaccinations as an effort to strengthen the body's resistance to Covid-19 transmission.

It is also a continuation of the Satpol PP activities from various levels such as sub-districts and cities, which are also trying to build collaboration with parties in their respective regions to help each other on the sidelines of running the duty during PPKM Level 4.
